One of my biggest dreams since picking up a camera and pursuing a career in travel, was to photograph humpback whales underwater. Witnessing the sheer scale and beauty of these creatures and sharing space amongst the depths of the ocean, seems like an incomprehensible experience, but something I have long wanted to feel for myself.
From July to October, the tropical waters around French Polynesia become a safe haven for whales to breed and this season I finally had the opportunity to travel to the Tahitian Islands to shoot for Air New Zealand, capturing the destination, documenting the journey and spending time in the water with these incredible animals.
