At the start of a month long trip around Central Asia, I spent a week in Southern Kazakhstan. Starting in Almaty, I rented a car and travelled through the desert and into the mountains to explore Kazakhstans picturesque alpine lakes and high mountain passes. Easily some of the most dramatic landscapes I’ve ever encountered.
